Gold: Toghrul Asgarov was born in Ganja, Azerbaijan, and is an Azerbaijani wrestler.
Ganja is a graceful city of some 300,000 persons, a manufacturing and agricultural center, prosperous as is all of Azerbaijan, Shiite in religion as is Iran but tolerant and Western in orientation. I could find no image relating to wrestling in Ganja, nor to a celebration for Toghrul's great accomplishment. Don't know why. I guess folks there don't post to the web much.

Silver: Besik Seradinovich Kudukhov, born in Tskhilon, Georgia, is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Ossetian descent, per Wikipedia. Tskhilon, Georgia, is now, ambiguously, Tskhilon, South Ossetia, a consequence of a recent war between Russia and Georgia.
From Wikipedia, in the wake of the 2008 South Ossetia War, Russia, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Nauru, and Tuvalu recognized South Ossetia as an independent republic.. . . The United States sided with Georgia. Georgia does not recognize the existence of South Ossetia as a political entity, and considers most of its territory a part of the Shida Kartli region under Georgian sovereignty, occupied by the Russian army.. . . .
Apparently the Olympic committee considers South Ossetia sufficiently Russian to allow wrestlers from there to complet as Rusian, or perhaps Besik has residences undisclosed on the Web.
Something os the troubles between Georgia and Russia are described in the discussion of Georgia's Silver Medalist Vladimer Khinchegashvili in this blog. But never mind: Besik is a Russian, now. Let it go. For now. He's a champion, and that's what we are celebrating.
